In the Plateau-Mont-Royal since 1993!
Plein Milieu is a community organization based in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, dedicated to building trust based relationships with people who use drugs, are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as with young people aged 12 and over. With over 30 years’ experience, our approach focuses on harm reduction, information and prevention for a safer, more empathetic world for all.
In a spirit of inclusion, we offer a wide range of services, including outreach work, street work, support in accessing housing, mediation between homeless people and the community in which they live, and a fixed site for accessing safe consumption and protection equipment. The organization also targets teenagers through prevention workshops in schools, psychosocial support and accompaniment. Interventions cover many areas, including sexual education, drug use and overdose prevention, sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), homelessness and social cohabitation.
At Plein Milieu, we see people as human beings, supporting them to achieve their full potential in society. The community organization works for social justice, where everyone has access to the services and care they need, while respecting their wishes and autonomy.
